HOW TO INSTALL YOUR THEME

BEFORE YOU START… It’s recommended that you update your site to the latest version of WordPress before installing your theme!! If you have an existing website, make sure you have a backup of your site before installing a new theme! Your hosting most likely makes daily site back-ups for you, but if not, you might want to consider installing a backup plugin. Make sure you’re running the latest PHP version. See HERE how to check your PHP version.

  1. First, head to your WordPress dashboard and go to Appearance > Themes
  2. Click “Add New” at the top of the page and search for “Kadence“. Install the Kadence theme but DO NOT activate it
  3. At the top of the page click on the “Add New” button, then click “upload“. Click on “Choose File” and select the .zip folder. Alternatively you can drag the folder over. Then click “Install Now“
  4. Activate the theme!
  5. At the top of the page you’ll see a button automatically pop up “Install AI Starter Templates.” Click on that button. *NOTE: If this button does not automatically show up, click onPlugins, then click the “Add New” button at the top of the page. Search for “Kadence” again and you’ll see the “AI Powered Starter Templates by Kadence WP” plugin. Install and activate the plugin.
  6. Then hover over “Appearance” and click on “Starter Templates”
  7. In the “Choose a Builder” section, click on THE THEME COLLECTIVE
  8. You should now see the preview of the child theme you purchased.
  9. Click on the theme template preview and hit the “Finish and Launch” button. This might take a couple of minutes to complete.

Wait for the import to finish and then view your site. It should look like the demo!

“INSTALLATION FAILED” ERROR – Sometimes the import may fail when installing your new theme. If this happens try disabling all plugins (except for Starter Templates) and then try the import again. It may take a few attempts to successfully import your new theme. Once your import is successful, you may find that some content has been duplicated. Go through your posts, pages, media and menues to delete any duplicate content. Remember to reactivate your plugins.
